Home Solar

Hello, sunshine! With over 284 sunny days a year, SoCal is a great place to go solar.

Home Solar

Skip out on the cycle of escalating Utility rates, and let the sun do the heavy lifting. Solar systems can stabilize the cost of your energy needs, and even help power your neighborhood. Tax credits for solar installation costs also apply to your roof replacement if completed at the same time.

Solar benefits homeowners and businesses by reducing electric costs. For households with EVs, electricity produced offsets the cost of gasoline which would otherwise be used for transportation. A rooftop solar installation can also prolong the life of your roof. The rays are converted into energy instead of wearing out roofing materials.

There are community and environmental benefits to solar. Dollars spent on energy are spent on jobs in the local economy. The means of production is built out by individuals who purchase solar, as opposed to the Utility needing to install large power generation plants in distant locations along with infrastructure to carry the power long distances. The power grid is more stable when supplied with local energy. Solar is also helpful in reducing pollutants from fossil fuels and CO2 emissions. We believe battery technology will enhance the future use of solar.

A Deeper Dive

What to Consider Before Choosing Solar:

  • How much electricity do you consume, in Kilowatt hours? This information is on your electric bills.

  • What type of service do you have and what rates are you under? (This is also on the bill.)

  • Are you planning to add any equipment that will require additional power?

  • Will you be increasing your energy needs in the near future? For example, increasing your family size, adding a pool, switching to an electric vehicle, etc.

  • The approximate age and capacity of the service panel.

  • The location where you expect to install the solar.

  • If it’s a roof, what is the roofing material, what is the condition of the roof?

  • Can you shift your energy use to a different time of day?

  • Any particular concerns about cost, products, scheduling or the work site.
