Electric Vehicle Charging

From your condo in DTLA, to your beach escape in Newport, to the prestigious art museum in Brentwood, to a children’s hospital in Hollywood, we love keeping you and your EV powered to go.

Electric Vehicle Charging

We design and build EV charging systems for single family residences, condo buildings, public parks, hospitals, universities, museums, and other multi-vehicle spaces. We have pioneered home charging in the Los Angeles area, defining how SoCal builds out its EV charging infrastructure. Our priority is designing systems with the ability to grow as technology and customer needs evolve.

Over the past 20 years of working with multiple utilities and building types, we have developed packaged solutions for entire buildings to single residents -  all dynamic and scalable based on the needs of our client. We work with building management and the HOA to navigate defining scope of work, and assist in compiling the supporting documents for rebate filing.  Billing, power usage, and load-management features are all part of this conversation.

In California, the Advanced Clean Cars program will require that all new vehicles be electric-drive by 2035. Zero emissions vehicles (ZEV) are much better for air quality and the climate, and the energy they use can be far less expensive than gasoline. Electric vehicles are high performing cars, quiet, fast and fun to drive. The higher cost of purchasing one is offset by reduced maintenance and operation costs. No oil changes or tune ups needed!

A Deeper Dive

Why switch to EV?

  1. For similarly sized vehicles, electricity can be less than 20% the cost of gasoline per mile.

  2. Lower maintenance costs - no regular oil changes, spark plugs, etc.

  3. Tires and wiper fluid are the only regular maintenance items.

  4. Your “fuel” is waiting for you at home. Your commute becomes a simple point A to point B between home and work, no more gas stations!

  5. With home solar, you can lock in your energy costs for 20-30 years.

  6. With Vehicle2Grid (V2G)  technology, your car can soon serve as an emergency power source for your home.

  7. V2G can help shape the dynamic, responsive, and cleaner grid of the future. We anticipate this technology will be commonplace in the next 2-5 years.

Questions to ask when selecting an electric vehicle:

  • How do you want to use the car?

  • What work, household, and leisure uses do you anticipate?

  • What type of driver are you?

  • What are the typical distance(s) you drive each day, the type of roads?

  • What terrain or climate will you traverse?

  • These are all variables that affect performance.

It’s very important to have a plan for charging your EV. Some homes will require extensive effort and materials to add a charging station. Apartments can be difficult for individual residents, as can condos, though we have developed many solutions and love challenging projects.
